Harry Potter Cast: What Have They Been Up To Since the Movies?

Can you believe it has been almost two decades since you first heard of the story of the boy who lived? Potterheads were treated with the film franchise of J.K. Rowling's best-selling fantasy novel series. The experience has become more magical and memorable, thanks to the amazing cast who gave life to these amusing characters in Hogwarts.
After eight blockbuster movies and 12 Academy Awards, these talented actors have come a long way from their time in the world of magic. Have they finally figured out which House they belonged in? Ready your wands and find out what the cast of Harry Potter has been up to.
Rupert Grint - Ron Weasley
Ron Weasley was famously known as Harry Potter's best friend through it all. While his luck and coordination were not always on his side, he was always by Harry's. The Weasley men never back down!

Today, Grint has been in several independent films, as well as the show Sick Note, a British comedy. He is often times confused for English singer Ed Sheeran, which he doesn't hate at all. In May 2020, Rupert welcomed a daughter with his on and off girlfriend, Georgia Groome, adding the title of 'dad' to his resume.
Maggie Smith - Professor McGonagall
Just hearing the name Professor McGonagall makes us feel like we've done something wrong! She was without question one of the good guys, but as a teacher at Hogwarts she was respected and feared. Maggie Smith, the iconic actress who played her, however, is nowhere near as fearsome.

Maggie Smith has had a lengthy and wondrous acting career. Her most recent role as Violet Crawley in the hit period drama, Downton Abbey, reminded the world that she is far from retiring.
Robert Pattinson - Cedric Diggory
Cedric Diggory was on screen during one movie and not for very long, but he left quite the impression. He fell victim to the Dark Lord, ending his time in Hogwarts, but not before solidifying himself as a golden boy. He was the Hufflepuff Quidditch captain, and was a sweet boy altogether (even when everyone pinned him against Harry).

Since his HP days, Pattinson has shot to fame as Edward Cullen in the Twilight films. He has left that character behind as well, most recently taking on the role of Batman in the new version of the superhero film.
Emma Thompson - Professor Trelawney
Professor Trelawney was the one of the more eccentric teachers at Hogwarts, with her ability to see the future and have those super thick glasses. She was even possessed during a conversation with Hermione! Actress Emma Thompson played her to perfection, and has since gone on to do some amazing things.

Thompson is a powerhouse in the acting world, starring in films like Nanny McPhee, and Mrs. Potts in the live action version of Beauty and the Beast (alongside Hermione actress Emma Watson).
Robbie Coltrane - Hagrid
Hagrid was the definition of a "big, friendly, giant". He was very large, but he was the greatest friend to Harry Potter's cause, and was loyal to Dumbledore and Hogwarts through and through. He was one of Harry's biggest protectors, the cross between the big brother and father that Harry desperately needed.

When he isn't Hagrid, Robbie Coltrane is hardly recognizable! Since his days as the lovely giant, Coltrane has taken a bit of a break from the acting world. However, he is the voice behind Lord Dingwall in the animated film, Brave.
Helena Bonham-Carter - Bellatrix Lestrange
Love her or hate her, Bellatrix Lestrange was a key character in the development of Harry's story. She was a loyal follower of Voldemort and a former member of Slytherin house. This dark witch was trouble for Harry, and only an actress like Helena Bonham-Carter could master her.

Today, she has switched things up to the more demure role of Princess Margaret in the hit Netflix show, The Crown. Known for her eccentric style, this role is a complete departure for her.
Gary Oldman - Sirius Black
Harry desperately needed a father figure in his life, and he got just that in his godfather, Sirius Black. Yes, we all thought that he was the one who was responsible for Harry's parents getting killed, but when we learned that it wasn't his fault we all breathed in a sigh of relief. Actor Gary Oldman shape-shifted into that role like no other.

The longtime actor has since played the role of Winston Churchill in the film Darkest Hour. It was a far departure from his long hair and wand waving responsibilities.
Katie Leung - Cho Chang
Who stole Harry's heart for the first time? That would be the lovely Ravenclaw house member Cho Chang. She was originally in love with Cedric Diggory, but when he passed she turned her sights to our boy Harry. They didn't end up lasting, as we all know, but she went on to marry a muggle and live a happy life.

As for the actress who played her, Katie Leung has continued to act and work alongside big names. She recently landed a role in the film The Foreigner, alongside Pierce Brosnan and Jackie Chan.
Jason Isaacs - Lucius Malfoy
Initially, we all thought Draco was the one who wanted Harry to go down, but it was actually Draco's father who wanted it more than him. Lucius Malfoy, played by Jason Isaacs, was a loyal Death Eater and follower of the Dark Lord, Voldemort.

Since his villain days in Harry Potter, Isaacs has been in a long list of roles. When he isn't sporting the blonde wig, he is in productions like the World War II film Fury, as well as the Netflix show The OA. He is also a devoted husband and father of two!
Michael Gambon - Albus Dumbledore
The headmaster of Hogwarts himself, Albus Dumbledore! Needless to say, the story would be a vastly different one without dear Dumbledore. He was instrumental in Harry's life and the victory over Voldemort. Every step Dumbledore took was a planned move that he saw the effect of far in advance.

Actor Michael Gambon had a long acting career before his time as Dumbledore. His time as the headmaster, however, was one of his favorites. Gambon is no longer acting as much as he did, deciding to spend his time with his family.
Fiona Shaw - Petunia Dursley
Aunt Petunia wasn't all bad, but she certainly wasn't all good either. Petunia took Harry in as a baby, after his parents were killed, but she never treated him as a part of her family. She was a doting mother to her own son, though. We will never forget her scream when her son is found int he snake exhibit in the zoo. Classic!

Fiona Shaw, however, after spending her time as Petunia, set her sights on more impressive roles. She has been focusing her time on the show Killing Eve, a thriller that has become a huge hit. She earned herself a BAFTA for her role.
Devon Murray - Seamus Finnigan
He may not have been as good of a friend as Ron Weasley was to Harry, but Seamus Finnigan was right up there. He was also a Gryffindor house member, and was (mostly) there to help Harry when he needed it. He was also the poor boy who got the feather blown up in his face instead of levitating it.

Actor Devon Murray played Seamus and has grown up quite a bit since those days. He has been in some smaller independent films since his HP days, but the now 30-something year old is focusing more on other projects.
Adrian Rawlins - James Potter
That scene where Harry looks into the Mirror of Erised and sees his parents for the first time is one of the saddest ones in the film. We can only imagine the kind of bond James Potter would have with his son, Harry, if he were still around.

As for the man behind the character, Adrian Rawlins has been up to some good stuff. He was not one of those actors who got type casted as a result of the Harry Potter films. Rawlins landed a role in HBO's historical drama Chernobyl.
Matthew Lewis - Neville Longbottom
Poor Neville could never catch a break! He was not very good with magic, nor was he considered a fearsome boy. Neville Longbottom, however, turned out to be more brave than many others when it came down to the battle with Voldemort and his followers.

However, actor Matthew Lewis sure grew up fine since his days as Neville! He grew into his features and stunned the world when everyone realized he is downright beautiful. He has since been in films like Me Before You, and is also focusing on his stage work.
Warwick Davis - Professor Flitwick
Another professor to the mix. One of Hogwarts' most prolific educators, Professor Flitwick was the one who guided the students as a Charm Master. He was the professor who tried to help the kids with their levitation spells - remember "Wingardium Leviosa”?

Actor Warwick Davis was the man under the makeup, and has gone on to work on other interesting projects. One of his most recent ones was on an episode of Who Do You Think You Are? Warwick traced back his own family.
David Thewlis - Remus Lupin
There had to be a werewolf in the magical world of wizards. Remus Lupin was actually both wizard and werewolf, but we aren't going to get caught up on technicalities. Lupin was a Hogwarts graduate who would later become the best professor for the Defense Against the Dark Arts. Is the life of the man who played him as exciting as the characters?

Actor David Thewlis' life is indeed not a dull one! He has been on the American comedy show Fargo, for which he landed several awards for, including an Emmy and a Golden Globe.
Mark Williams - Arthur Weasley
The head of the Weasley household, Arthur Weasley, was much more than the head of the red-headed gene, but was also a fair man who wanted to protect his family and Harry at all costs. He was among those who fought against the Dark Lord and worked at the Ministry of Magic.

In the real world, Mark Williams is known as a comedic actor among his other skills. He is picky about his roles, with one of his latest ones being in 2016 in the film Golden Years.
Helen McCrory - Narcissa Malfoy
We didn't get to know Narcissa Malfoy as well as we did her husband and son, but when we did get to see her we were hooked. While she was indeed a Malfoy, she was far from the terror that the others were to Harry. She cared for her family first and foremost and that showed in her character.

Helen McCrory played the role of Narcissa, and has been in the acting world for decades. She has since stepped onto the stage, rather than another movie set, but her latest project being a role in the television show called Fearless.
Freddie Stroma - Cormac McLaggen
Cormac McLaggen had eyes only for Quidditch as a member of the house of Gryffindor. He was not the best player there was, but he had mighty spirit. He was also swoon-worthy in the eyes of the other Hogwarts girls.

As for Freddie Stroma, who played Cormac, he got his big break on Harry Potter and has since been in major productions like Game of Thrones! He played the role of Dickon Tarly in the HBO mega-hit show. There are even better things to come for him.
Miriam Margolyes - Professor Sprout
Professor Pomona Sprout protected the delicate ears of the young Hogwarts students when they were learning how to handle the Mandrake plant with her as the Head of Herbology. She was named after a plant and loved all things to do with them.

Miriam Margolyes played Professor Sprout and since her days in Hogwarts, the actress has been busy with both her humanitarian projects as well as her acting career. Most recently, she has been working on Miriam's Big American Adventure, where she goes around the country meeting lower income families.
Jessie Cave - Lavendar Brown
Lavender Brown was obsessed with Ronald Weasley, much to the dismay of everyone - including Ronald Weasley! She had the gift of foresight as well as a sad end to her relationship with Ron. Lavender was played by Jessie Cave.

Cave has since become quite the cartoonist, publishing her own cook, called Lovesick, in 2015. She has been in smaller productions since Harry Potter, but it looks like her love of cartoons and that creative side has been taking up much of her time.
David Bradley - Argus Filch
There were quite a few moments when Harry, Ron and Hermione felt scared, and one of them was the thought of getting caught by Argus Filch. The caretaker had a soft side, however, as his love for his cat was above all else. Mrs. Norris, his cat, got the best side of Filch.

David Bradley, however, isn't a fearsome man in real life but a stellar actor who landed roles in the British miniseries Les Miserables, as well as a notable role in Game of Thrones.
Clemence Poesy - Fleur Delacour
Fleur Delacour was a part of the Tri-Wizard Tournament, but it was she stole Bill Weasley's heart that we saw the true side of her. The French witch fell for the older Weasley and in the end of the series provided him with three lovely children.

Since the end of the HP films, Clemence Poesy has made a name for herself in the modeling world. She also became a mother in 2017. She has taken a step back from acting, but may return some day soon.
Jim Broadbent - Horace Slughorn
Professor Slughorn was the collector of talented students, beginning with Tom Riddle himself. He got on Harry's good graces until he found out what he had done for Tom and how he essentially helped him split his soul apart into the horcruxes.

Actor Jim Broadbent has lead a life a little different than that of the Dark Lord. He has gone on to act in Hans Christian Anderson's play A Very Very Very Dark Matter. Keeping his head in the theater, where his true passion lies.
Imelda Staunton - Dolores Umbridge
We barely recognize her without her signature pink everything getup. We all disliked Dolores Umbridge for the way she took over Hogwarts and made life very difficult for everyone. She was by far the most strict educator we have ever seen.

Imelda Staunton is far more relaxed off screen and in other projects. She is well-respected in the industry, having won several BAFTAs. After her time on Harry Potter, she landed a role in the movie version of the famed series Downton Abbey.
Bill Nighy - Rufus Scrimgeour
The Minister of Magic himself, Rufus Scrimgeour, was no match for the Dark Lord when he came in and took the ministry from his very hands. He may have been a trained to fight Voldemort, but he was no match at all. The last we see of him is when he gives Harry, Hermione, and Ron the items from Dumbledore's will.

Actor Bill Nighy was a household name long before his time as the Minister of Magic, and he continued right after. He was in films like Pirates of the Caribbean, as well as Love Actually. More recently, he was awarded one of GQ's 50 best dressed men in Britain.
Natalia Tena - Nymphadora Tonks
Nymphadora was one of the very few witches who were able to shape shift and change their look, it was a very rare gift. She was one of the many who were working hard to keep Harry safe and the Dark Lord at bay. She a Professor Lupin were an item, too.

Natalia Tena has since remained relevant in the acting world, working on smaller independant projects like the show Origin, which is a YouTube production. She may no longer be at Hogwarts, but she does like to keep to the fictional realm.
Shirley Henderson - Moaning Myrtle
Moaning Myrtle was not a welcomed presence in the lives of Harry and the gang. She would make their lives a little more difficult, until she would become very handy at telling Harry where the basilisk was coming from. Then she came in very handy, indeed.

Shirley Henderson is actually a lot older than her schoolgirl character, but looks like a young woman. She is very busy these days, landing roles in films like Stan and Ollie. Her days as Myrtle were definitely helpful to her career.
James Phelps - Fred Weasley
Fred loved to play pranks on his little brother, Ron, along with his twin brother, George. They were famous in the house of Gryffindor as the troublemakers, but ultimately stood up to Voldemort like the heroes that they are.

Twin brothers, James and Oliver Phelps, have since enjoyed a lot of notoriety, and have used their fame to promote their philanthropic projects. They even went skydiving to raise money for cancer research. They put those kind of projects ahead of all the rest.
Miranda Richardson - Rita Skeeter
Rita Skeeter was the nosey reporter who made drama where there was nothing there. She was the one who took her quill and did all sorts of damage to Harry around the Tri-Wizard Tournament. Miranda Richardson embraced Skeeter's dramatic nature every bit.

She has since been in movie after movie, going by her motto "another day, another movie." One of her most recent roles was in the film Stronger, where she played the role of Patty Bauman. She has many more projects lined up.
Daniel Radcliffe - Harry Potter

Needless to say, Daniel Radcilff's life changed as soon as he was cast as Harry. He spent 12 years playing him, too. Since then, he has shot to fame and is recognized by all, but has also been in other roles in both Broadway as well as films. He was in the film The Woman in Black, and on stage in Equus.
Tom Felton - Draco Malfoy
Every movie needs a bad boy, and while we have Voldemort, we also have Draco Malfoy. The Slytherin house member had it out for Harry from the very beginning. His bleach blonde hair meant that he stood out among the rest.

Tom Felton, however, wasn't a mean boy at all. The now grown man has been in films like Rise of the Planet of the Apes, where he also plays a pretty evil guy. He isn't exactly typecasted, but he has been getting only villain roles.
Julie Walters - Molly Weasley
Momma Weasley! The head of the Weasley clan is anything but demure. She was a powerful witch who ended up proving her worth when she won her own battle against Bellatrix Lestrange. She always fussed about her children and was the classic doting mother, and in the end she also proved thats he was a witch to contend with.

Julie Walter has been acting for decades before she met the Potter clan. She has since continued that steak with the Mamma Mia films, adding a funny and musical twist to her roles.
Evanna Lynch - Luna Lovegood
Luna Lovegood of Ravenclaw turned out to be one of Harry's greatest allies. She was the quirkiest of the characters but she was wise and honest and loyal to Harry and his cause. She grew up in front of the camera, and much more since then.

Evanna Lynch has continued to act and has been in films like My Name Is Emily, and in the American dance competition sow Dancing with the Stars. We are going to be seeing a lot more of her.
Josh Herdman - Gregory Goyle
One of Draco Malfoy's two sidekicks, Gregory Goyle was his loyal best friend and fellow member of house Slytherin. He ended up being presented more like Malfoy's slave than his friend, but that is pretty much how middle and high school goes anywhere.

Josh Herdman has since found another passion than acting - mixed martial arts! He has a huge passion for jiujitsu and is working hard to become a professional in the ring. From actor to professional fighter, makes sense.
Timothy Spall - Peter Pettigrew
He started out as a boy, then he was a rat, then he was a man. Peter Pettigrew was once a friend of James Potter and Sirius Black, but he turned in favor of the Dark Lord and became a serious pain. The disloyal creature turned man was on the wrong side of this battle.

Timothy Spall may have played vile character, but he did so very well. He has since continued his already longstanding career in acting, by taking to the stage in Harold Pinter's play, The Caretaker.
Zoe Wanamaker - Rolanda Hooch
Rolanda Hooch was the flying instructor. She had a sharp look about her and pale eyes that pierce right through you. She was spirited in all things Hogwarts and was also a Quidditch referee. What has become of the actress who played her?

Zoe Wanamaker has come a long way since her days on the Hogwarts field. She has been in several British productions, such as Mr. Selfridge, a series where she play the role of Princess Marie.
Brendan Gleeson - Alastor Moody
Alastor 'Mad-Eye' Moody was force to be reckoned with. The Scottish wizard had one leg, one eye, and part of his nose had broken in the Wizarding Wars. He was a professor turned protector for Harry, despite the fact that Harry didn't trust him to begin with.

Actor Brendan Gleeson is a household name without the Harry Potter franchise, but with it he just added more flame to his fame. Earlier in 2019, Gleeson proved himself in yet another category - music. He wrote a song called The Rocky Road to Dublin, for the band Dervish.
Afshan Azad - Padma Patil
Padma Patil was a Ravenclaw house member and the lucky girl who got to go to the dance with Harry! She was a loyal good witch who ended up fighting with the rest of the young wizards and witches against Voldemort.

Afshan Azad, who played Patil, has become a well known model and actress since her time in the franchise. Her roles have been small, but she is showing great potential in the industry. We hope to see more of her!
Ralph Fiennes - Voldemort
At last, Voldemort himself! The Dark Lord was played by actor Ralph Fiennes, who went through quite a bit of makeup work to look the part. They had to remove his nose for the character, which required CGI as well as a lot of time in the makeup chair. Voldemort was worth it though, as he was second to Harry in the film's spotlight.

Since the franchise ended, Ralph Fiennes has continued to make movies like he had always done. The award-winning actor has been in James Bond's Skyfall, The Grand Budapest Hotel, and theatre productions.
Frances de la Tour - Olympe Maxime
Olympe Maxime was the headmaster of the the French delegation during the Tri-Wizard Tournament. The half-giant was a perfect match for Hagrid, which was such a lovely thing to see. Miss Maxine was without question the tallest woman in Hogwarts.

As for Frances de la Tour, she is not at all as tall as the character she played, and over the years has earned quite a bit of attention and praise. She has won a Tony Award and three Olivier Awards. Her most recent role was in the series Outlander, where she plays the role of Mother Hildegarde.
Anna Shaffer - Romilda Vane
Yep, this was the girl who tried to slip Harry Potter a love potion. Romilda Vane didn't have a large role in the movies but she flattered Harry enough and got Ron into trouble when he was the one who ended up eating the love potion poisoned chocolates.

The beautiful actress who played her, Anna Shaffer, is known for her role as Ruby Button in Hollyoaks, a British soap opera. She has since been in a few small productions, but we are sure to see more of her in the future.
Gemma Jones - Madam Pomfrey
Madam Pomfrey was the rescuer of all wounded students at Hogwarts, which happened more often than it did before Harry came to the school. She managed the Hospital Wing and did so with relaxed ease. The magical nurse had a few tricks up her sleeve, too.

Gemma Jones is closer to her 80s today, and has slowed down in her acting roles. She enjoys looking back at her stellar career, including films like Bridget Jones' Diary, and Pride and Prejudice.
Kenneth Branagh - Gilderoy Lockhart
Gilderoy Lockhart was a former Ravenclaw student who went on to publish magical books and win the hearts of women across the magical land. His tales ended up being a load of fairy dust, but he did teach Harry a thing or two.

Kenneth Branagh is much more than just an actor, he is also a producer and director. Since Harry Potter, he has played the role of Hercule Poirot in the film Murder on the Orient Express.
Nick Moran - Scabior
Scabior is what we like to call a 'snatcher', a job set up by Voldemort to find all muggle born witches and wizards. Scabior was a skilled snatcher and feared by Hermione as her and Harry went about their search of the many horcruxes.

Nick Moran, who is hardly recognizable without his long hair and grimy face, has gone on to clean up and play the leading role in the play Roaring Trade. He is both a theater actor as well as a film one, - how diverse!
David Tennant - Bartemis Crouch Junior
Barry Crouch Jr. was the son of the Minister of Magic at the time and was sent to Azkaban as a follower of the Dark Lord. He ended up escaping thanks to Voldemort. He was the first to ever escape!

David Tennant is actually known more for another role than the one in Harry Potter, and that is the role of Doctor Who! Other than that iconic series, he has started his own podcast called David Tennant Does a Podcast With...
Alfred Enoch - Dean Thomas
Dean Thomas didn't have a huge role, but he was indeed a Quidditch legend. The wizard was a half muggle that made his Gryffindor house more than proud with his athletic abilities. He was also there to help fight the dark forces and stand by Harry.

Alfred Enoch joined the theater actors of the United Kingdom after Harry Potter. He was on West End since 2010, mixing things up in 2018 when he was in the play Red at the Wyndham's Theater. He was also on television, landing a role on How to Get Away with Murder.
Jeff Rawle - Amos Diggory
Cedric's most proud and bereaved father, Amos Diggory. We saw him briefly as he cheered his son on during the Tri-Wizard Tournament, and in the sad scene where he sees his deceased son after Voldemort got to him.

Jeff Rawle was previously known for his role in the soap opera Hollyoaks. He was also on other British shows like Father Brown, State of the Union, and The Durrells in Corfu. His voice is also worth a lot, as he has gone into narration work as well.
Sean Biggerstaff - Oliver Wood
Oliver Wood was the one who showed Harry how to play Quidditch after Professor Mcgonagall caught him flying without permission. Wood was a legend in Quidditch and was the Captain of the team as well as the Keeper.

Sean Biggerstaff used his time as Oliver Wood to his advantage, launching a successful acting career from it. He landed several roles afterwards, including some voice work in the audio series Jenny: The Doctor's Daughter, where he played the role of Noah.
Stanislav Ianevski - Viktor Krum
Ah, Viktor Krum. The Bulgarian wizard who made Hermione blush and the rest of the guys weak at the knees. He was the youngest Seeker who went professional in Quidditch and impressed the magical world.

Stanislav Ianevski has had a couple of other roles after his time in the HP franchise, like his role in Hostel II, Eli Roth's film. He is looking for additional roles and is sure to find his niche. Perhaps he should look into roles that include boxing?
Harry Melling - Dudley Dursley
What a difference a few years can make! Cousin Dudley was Harry's ridiculously spoiled and mean cousin that we all liked to laugh at. They never shared the bond of brotherhood, but that was probably more to do with his parents than anything else.

Harry Melling, however, has grown out of Dudley's shadow (and pants) and has since not only wowed with his appearance but has landed a role in the comedy The Ballad of Buster Scruggs.
Emma Watson - Hermione Granger
Finally, the third and final piece of the iconic trio! Hermione Granger, the half muggle half witch who outsmarts everyone - all the time. Harry and Ron may have needed some time to warm up to her, but without her they would have been lost.

Today, actress Emma Watson, is a household name in Hollywood. She has since played the role of Belle in Beauty and the Beast, as well as become a UN Ambassador working towards gender equality. There is so much more of her left to see.
Eleanor Columbus - Susan Bones
Susan Bones was the first to be called up to put on the sorting hat in the very beginning of Harry's story. She is actually the real life daughter of the director of the first two Harry Potter films, Chris Columbus. The role of Susan was small, but she did such a good job!

Eleanor Columbus has still got her signature red hair from the film, since that's her natural hue, but has not been in as many productions as the rest of the cast after the films were over. She did play another character in the second Harry Potter film, though.
Jamie Waylett - Vincent Crabbe
Completing yet another trio, this time it is Vincent Crabbe, of Malfoy's trio. Jamie Waylett played the role of Crabbe in the older version of the role. He is the son of a death eater who shared the same maniacal views as Draco Malfoy's father. Goyle completed these two up.

Jamie Waylett has not been acting since his time on screen with the rest of the magical cast, in fact, he has gotten himself in some trouble with the authorities on several occasions.
Tiana Benjamin - Angelina Johnson
Angelina Johnson was a Gryffindor house member who made a name for herself at Hogwarts. She was her own captain of the Gryffindor Quidditch team during her 7th year at the school. She was also part of Dumbledore's Army that was there to help Harry fight Voldemort. The story goes that she ended up marrying George Weasley!

Actress Danielle Tabor went on to play the role of Chelsea Fox for four years on the show EastEnders. She has kept quite busy.
Richard Griffiths - Uncle Vernon
Richard Griffiths played the role of hilariously hated Uncle Vernon. He hated having Harry under his wing and wanted nothing more than to have his wife and son and keep the world as "normal" as he knew it. Raising a young wizard threw that plan right out of the window.

Richard is actually a Tony Award winning actor who sadly passed away in 2013 when he was just 65 years old as a result complications from heart surgery.
Jamie Yeates - Marcus Flint
Marcus Flint was a Slytherin house member who played on their Quidditch team and wanted nothing more than to hit Harry off of his broom. His dark hair and eyes were as terrifying as his teeth. Luckily, the actor playing him didn't have those teeth in real life.

Jamie Yeates has not been in any acting role since his time on Harry Potter. He did, however, get a modeling headshot of him so perhaps he is gearing up for something else.
William Theakston - Terence Higgs
Another Slytherin Quidditch player was Terence Higgs. He was not nearly as nasty as his other classmates and teammates, but wanted the Golden Snitch more than anything and fought Harry over it.

Actor Will Theakston has gone on to have minor television roles, but ended up putting acting behind him after all. He decided that it was best to fo to college and work on his other passion - music. He has since performed under the name Vonesvonic and is living in France.
Luke Youngblood - Lee Jordan
The beloved announcing boy in the Quidditch games - Lee Jordan. He was a good friend of the mischievous Weasley twins, George and Fred. He was the one who helped them make up the craziest pranks of theirs. He was a man of many talents.

Luke Youngblood, actually decided to step away from acting after the first two Harry Potter films as he wanted to follow his passion for fashion design! He has since mixed his two loves and was on the reality show Project Catwalk. He moved to Los Angeles to pursue modeling and acting again.
John Cleese - Nearly Headless Nick
Sir Nicholas de Mimsy-Porpington was a friendly ghost who used to be a Gryffindor wizard. We know him more as a Nearly Headless Nick, who was nearly decapitated, hence his title. He showed of his near beheading to Ron and Hermione when they first had dinner at Hogwarts.

British legend John Cleese was a formidable actor long before Harry Potter walked into his life. He is known for his starring role in the Monty Python movies, as well as being the James Bond and Rat Race.
Geraldine Somerville - Lily Potter
Lily Potter, also known as Harry's mother, did not have a lot of screen time, but that doesn't mean she is any less important. We first learned of her long after she had passed, in flashbacks of her protecting Harry. She did reappear towards the middle and again at the end, as Harry went to sacrifice himself to the Dark Lord.

Actress Geraldine Somerville is known for her roles in both My Week with Marilyn and Gosford Park. She has kept rather busy since her Potter days. She also played the role of Princess Antoinette in Grace of Monaco.
Christian Coulson - Tom Riddle
Ah, Tom Marvelo Riddle. The boy before he became the Dark Lord Voldemort. Before he would become the darkest wizard to ever befall the land, he was a young man who wanted to learn the dark arts and gain power. Actor Christian Coulson played the role of the younger Voldemort, when he appeared in the second film, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.

Since his time in the film, Coulson has moved to New York City, where he still pursues acting, as well as putting his time behind the camera in directing.
Chris Rankin - Percy Weasley
Out of all of the Weasley siblings, Percy was without a doubt the most uptight. He was the Head Boy and prefect of Hogwarts, making him very proud and also very mocked. He did not like his other siblings' pension for pranks either. After Hogwarts, he got a job at the Ministry of Magic.

Chris Ranking actually never acted before his role as Percy in the Harry Potter films. His only acting experience was in his school plays! Since Potter, he co-founded his own theatre company, called the Painted Horse UK. He does still do some acting, but it is mostly stage work.
Charlotte Skeoch - Hannah Abbott
She may have had a small role, but we are bringing everyone who took part in Harry's world into the spotlight. Hannah Abbot was a member of the Hufflepuff house and was the same age as Harry and the gang. She fought in Dumbledore's army after she was pulled out of school due to her mother's passing. The story goes that she ended up marrying Neville Longbottom!

Actress Charlotte Skeoch has since gone on to pursue a dancing career, then switching directions to journalism, and finally resting on the chosen career of English teacher.
Hugh Mitchell - Colin Creevey
Little Colin Creevey! He was the little kid who wouldn't stop taking photos of young Harry Potter, and even got himself petrified by the basilisk due to his own curiosity. He, too, joined Dumbledore's Army when it came time to join forces behind Harry.

Hugh Mitchell's role as Colin was his very first acting job. He got bit by the acting bug and has not stopped since. Post-Potter, Colin went on to be a part of films like The Da Vinci Code, Waking the Dead, and Nicholas Nickleby.
Edward Randell - Justin Finch-Fletchley
Justin Finch-Fletchley made it clear to everyone in his Hufflepuff house that Hogwarts was not his first choice of schools. He shared with his magical school friends, “My name was down for Eton, you know. I can’t tell you how glad I am I came here instead.” However stuck up he may have been then, when it came down to join Dumbledore's Army, he joined without hesitation.

Edward Randell, who played Justin, decided to end his acting days and turn his sights to music. He has since joined the band The Swingles. The band has been around since 1974 and has replaced many members over the years.
Michelle Fairley - Mrs. Granger
She may have had a tiny role in Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows: Part 1, but Mrs. Grander, Hermione's mother, left an impression. We see her in a scene where Hermione removes herself from her parent's memories as she goes off to find the horcruxes and battle Voldemort.

Actress Michelle Fairley has since shot to fame as Catelyn Stark in HBO's hit show Game of Thrones. She has also been in the show Suits, where she plays the role of Ava Hessington.
Frank Dillane - Tom Riddle
We get two young Riddles and one Lord Voldemort. Actor Frank Dillane played the role of the youngest Tom Riddle. We see him when he is just beginning to find his magical ways and is scared of what he can do. Dumbledore took him under his wing, but he underestimated the manipulative young boy. Professor Slughorn would be the one to make him the worst version of himself.

Frank has since gone on to play the role of Nick Clark in the show Fear the Walking Dead. You may also recognize his father, Stephen Dillane, who played the role of Stannis Baratheon in Game of Thrones.
Pam Ferris - Aunt Marge
Harry didn't like Aunt Marge, which is probably why he turned her into a giant balloon so she would float away after dinner. Marge was Vernon's younger sister, who didn't like Harry more than the rest of the lot.

Pam Ferris was well known before her role as Aunt Marge. One of her major roles was as Ms. Trunchbull in the famed 1996 movie Matilda. Post-Harry Potter, Ferris has played the role of Mrs. Faulker in the 2019 film Tolkein.
George Harris - Kingsley Shacklebolt
When things start getting hairy for Harry in Order of the Phoenix, we were introduced to Kingsley Shacklebot. He was one of the only wizards who knew that Sirius wasn't the danger to Harry but was actually trying to protect him. Shacklebot was the one to lie to the Ministry to try and keep them from knowing the truth.

George Harris perfected his role in the movie, and has since gone on to play other major parts in films like The Heavy, which was a notable thriller.
Kathryn Hunter - Mrs. Arabella Figg
Mrs. Arabella Figg was a sort of guardian angel for Harry. She may have looked like a cat lady on the outside, but she was a vital member of the Order of the Phoenix. She lived a couple of houses down from the Dursley's, and made sure to keep an eye out for Harry.

Actress Kathryn Hunter was originally named Aikaterini Hadjipateras. Her name is very Greek and comes from her Greek parents. She has recently been in two dramas produced by the BBC.
Suzie Toase - Alecto Carrow
Alecto Carrow was not someone you wanted to mess with. She showed herself in the last two Harry Potter films. She had fought during the first Wizarding War, but went into hiding when Voldemort was weakened after trying to kill Harry. She later returned to fight with the Dark Lord again.

After her time in the Harry Potter films, Suzie Toase went back to her first love - the theater stage. She has kept pretty low key since her Potter days.
Ralph Ineson - Amycus Carrow
Amycus Carrow was also one of Voldemort's followers, known as Death Eaters. He, too, went into hiding when the Dark Lord's curse of baby Harry backfired on him. He waited in the shadows of the regular world until it was time to rejoin Voldemort. Harry was the one to curse Amycus with a Crucio spell, torturing him.

Actor Ralph Ineson may also look familiar to you as he also went on to land a role in Game of Thrones (are we seeing a pattern here?). He played the role of Dagmer Cleftjaw. Most recently, Ineson worked as a voice actor for the iconic video game Assassin's Creed.
Rhys Ifans - Xenophilius “Xeno” Lovegood
Xeno Lovegood was a hugely important character. He was the editor of The Quibbler, Luna's father, and the storyteller of the deathly hallows. He is beside himself when Luna is taken, so when Harry and his friends come to ask questions, they are met with a story and later on with Death Eaters.

Rhys Ifans was long known for his roles in Hannibal Rising and Little Nicky. Since his Potter days, he has been in productions such as The King's Man.
David O’Hara - Albert Runcorn
Remember when Harry, Ron and Hermione took a potion to look like members of the ministry in order to gain access? Albert Runcorn was the one Harry got to change into. He was a high-ranking man in the ministry and was feared by others around him.

David O'Hara was perfect for this fantastic role. He first started out with a role in Braveheart, and after Harry Potter, he played alongside Sean Penn and Mel Gibson in The Professor and the Madman.
Steffan Rhodri - Reginald Cattermole
Ronald Weasley turned into Reginald Cattermole when he took the potion that Hermione made. He worked as the Magical Maintenance Department and was married to one of the women who worked at the ministry who was being interrogated for being half-muggle.

Steffan Rodri played the role of Cattermole, or well, Ron pretending to be Cattermole, that is. Since his small role in Harry Potter, he has gone on to play in the British sitcom Gavin and Stacey, where he looks much more relaxed.
Julianne Hough - Gryffindor Student
She didn't even get a name, but she was there! Actress and dancer, Julianne Hough, was right there cheering during the sorting hat ceremony in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. She is cheering for the fact that she is in the Gryffindor house!

Needless to say, Hough has gone on to make one serious name for herself. She has become a professional dancer, as well as a dance partner on Dancing with the Stars. She was also in the recent remake of Footloose.
Peter Mullan - Corban Yaxley
Corban was one of the bad ones. He was there alongside Voldemort, doing his bidding whenever he needed to. He was the one who stood by to watch as Snape killed Dumbledore. Corban was later found by the good ones and sent right back to Azkaban.

Peter Mullan, who played Corban, is known for his many acting accolades over the years. He earned himself a Best Actor award in the Cannes Film Festival for his work in My Name Is Joe.
Scarlett Byrne - Pansy Parkinson
Pansy Parkinson is one of those who isn't Harry's biggest fans. She was actually the one who suggested the other students turn Harry in to Voldemort. The girl was a plain bully and was not liked by the others who stood behind Harry. Parkinson was in Slytherin house, of course.

Scarlett Byrne did her best with her work as Pansy. She is a beautiful woman who has gone on to be in smaller productions in the United Kingdom. She is now a new mom and is focusing on her family.
Ellie Darcey-Alden - Lily Potter
When we are flashed back to a young Lily Potter, this is who we see! We see a young Lily befriending a young Snape before she is swept up into the arms of her beloved James Potter. Her signature red hair was pronounced and her eyes were that of a young Harry Potter.

Actress Ellie Darcey-Alden had the red hair and smile to pull off the perfect Lily. Since her time on the films, she has gone on to appear in Doctor Who. She has also focused her time on her love of competitive dancing.
Elarica Gallacher - Muggle Waitress
You can be 100% muggle and still make an impact in Harry's world! Elarica Gallacher played the role of the muggle waitress who flirted with Harry during the sixth film. Sadly, Dumbledore stood in his way by arriving just in time to take Harry off somewhere rather than taking the nice waitress out for coffee.

Gallacher has been a part of many productions since her time on Harry Potter, both film and television. Her most recent role was in the show A Discovery of Witches.
Helena Barlow - Rose Granger-Weasley
At the very end of Harry Potter's last film, when we see what the future holds for Harry, Ron, Hermione, and even Malfoy, we see their children. Ron and Hermione see their lovely Rose Granger-Weasley off to her first time at Hogwarts. Rose had her dad's signature red hair, she is a Weasley after all!

Actress Helena Barlow was the perfect one to play Rose. Her natural red hair made her a shoe-in, but she also came into the minor role with a lot of experience.
Shefali Chowdhury - Parvati Patil
Parvati Patil was sorted into House Gryffindor like Harry, Hermione, and Ron. She had the joy of standing by Harry's side and also there to fight when it was time to stand up against Voldemort. Daniel Radcliffe even mentioned how beautiful the actress was when he shared a scene with her.

Shefali Chowdhury was offered the role during her schooling, which coincided with her break, so she decided to take the role. Since her Potter days, she has been in a few short movies, including a thriller by Stephen King, called I Am the Doorway.
Daphne de Beistegui - Lily Luna Potter
Harry and Ginny ended up together after the battle over good and evil ended with Voldemort's demise. When the years have past and we see them as adults, we are welcomed with the site of Lily Luna Potter, Harry and Ginny's daughter. She can't wait to go to Hogwarts, too, but it's her brother going then.

Daphne de Beistegui was just a little girl when she played the role, and she was just like girls everywhere when she followed Daniel Radcliffe around. She remained out of the acting world after her time as Lily.
Kelly Macdonald - Lady Grey
Lady Grey was a ghost, but an important one at that. Harry goes to see her when he needs to know where her mother's diadem is located. She isn't an easy buy, seeing as she was sure he was one of those mean boys who just wanted a good grade. However, when Harry explained himself, she gave him the clue.

Kelly Macdonald played a ghost beautifully, and has since been in major productions, like No Country For Old Men, The Trainspotting, and has been in an episode of Black Mirror.
